Christ in the center with the cross, behind him a soldier, in front of him a weeping female figure in the act of wiping the face of Jesus with a cloth, Veronica. Long inscription in three columns in the bottom. The engraving seems to derive from a painting by Rubens, made around 1601-1602. (see Rubens and the engraving, Rome, De Luca Editore, 1977, p. 159 n. 343).
