allegedly by Pieter van Bloemen, known as Banner, (Antwerp, January 17, 1657 - Antwerp, 1720), Oil paintinging on canvas depicting a battle scene cm. 84x119. In frame 110x143 cm. Pieter van Bloemen belongs to a family of Flemish painters and designers, active between Italy and France.
In 1673 he became a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp and ten years later in Lyon in the company of Dutch artist Adriaen van der Cabel and Gillis Weenix.
Since 1686 lives in Rome, where he joined the "Schildersbent", an association of painters, mainly Dutch and Flemish, where Pieter acquired the nickname Standaart or Banner, probably as a result of the implementation of standards, which usually depict scenes battle. This period is full of success and influence his work until the end.
In 1694 returns to Antwerp and, in 1699, became dean of the Guild of Saint Luke. The painting is considered a battle scene.
