Kraus has been considered the best light lyric tenor of his generation and an absolute model of singing technique, distinguished by the emission perfection, clarity of diction and the domain of the high notes (up to E flat), as well as for the non common voice longevity. Equipped with a voice naturally fairly sound, but certainly not outstanding, with a very limited volume and a tone devoid of special attractions, tinged nasal inflections, has developed over the years a singing technique of the most perfect of the entire international music scene . clear, ringing stamp, from the slightly metallic sound devoid of burnishing and roundness, the crystalline sound, ennobled by a very elegant phrasing, careful and nuanced, with an almost maniacal attention to chiaroscuro, spinning and mezzevoci and with a voice control often to the virtuosity.
