egg tempera on wood with silver oklad, depicting Virgin and Child. Fully hallmarked with 84 zolotniks (875/1000) silver marks, used in St. Petersburg in 1888, assayer Ivan Vonifatiyevich Yevstigneyev, cyrillic makers' mark "C B" (Ref. Postnikova-Loseva p. 185 nr 145). Dimensions 27.5 x 22 cm. Item condition grading: *** fair (defects to the painting and to the wood).
