(Since 1878 the Shire Horse Society has been working to protect the breed that was then known as the Old English Breed of Cart Horse. Over the years the Society has worked hard to ensure that the breed continues to grow, standards are maintained and to hold interest in these magnificent horses. To celebrate the 140th Year of the Shire Horse Society, art pottery, Moorcroft, were invited to create a vase of stature to commemorate the occasion.
The result was incredible – a design worthy of Royal approval. Holding Loch Anna in her 2017 show dress and a carefully orchestrated champion pose, on one side, and the breath-taking vision of Loch Anna, glistening in her silky-black glazes, and almost galloping out of the vase itself, on the other. Undoubtedly, Loch Anna is the best design Moorcroft has ever created of an animal running in spiritual vitality)
