A PAIR OF LARGE 'SATSUMA' STYLE CERAMIC VASES
Japan, Meiji period
Circular section with ovoid body, short cylindrical neck and expanded mouth, both decorated on the outside with polychrome enamels and gold with a lake landscape scene with mountains, blossoming trees, pavilions and figures, both marked 吉山 (Yoshiyama) with the Shimazu emblem within a rectangular cartouche to the center of the base.
