Domenico Paladino is an Italian artist, still alive, originally from Paduli. As a young man he attended the Liceo Artistico and the Lucio Amelio art gallery in Naples, an important exhibition space for contemporary art at an international level from the 1960s to the 1990s. During his visit to the Venice Biennale he met the art critic Achille Bonito Oliva, with whom he joined the Italian Transavanguardia in 1980. The latter presents itself as an artistic current that proposes a return to figurative painting as a response to the period of economic and social crisis that Italy experienced in those years and to the re-examination of the avant-gardes of the first half of the twentieth century. The deep interest in drawing leads the artist to deepen other artistic techniques such as woodcut, engraving, aquatint and etching, the latter used in the work in question. His works are exhibited in the most important museums in the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. & Nbsp;
