The blue enamel dial with gilt Roman numerals is framed by a gilt raised frieze
The three tier stand displays on the top two winged female figures, possibly alluding to science (holding a compass), and literature (reclining over two books.
The architectural intermediate level depicts a low relief with three putti
The lower section, sitting on six feet is profusely decorated with garlands and foliage scroll motifs
