Philately: Postcard - United States of America - one cent Jewish Educational Society: "The annual meeting of this society will be held on Monday evening, January 30, 1905, at 8 o'clock at the Grand Secretary's office, I.O.B.B. Building, 121 Eddy Street, for the purpose of receiving reports and for the election of a Board of Directors for the ensuing year. By order of the President. Jacob Nieto, Secretary."
Jacob Nieto was first a rabbi in Sheffield, England (1889-1892) and became the rabbi of San Francisco's Congregation Sherith Israel (1893-1930).. Nieto was widely recognized as an impassioned and spellbinding orator and a champion of humanitarian causes and controversial issues, as well as a supporter of the Spanish-American War and manifest destiny. He served as a president of the Anti-Capital Punishment League and as president of the San Francisco branch of the National Industrial Peace Association.
