Attic red-figure kylix, End of 5th century BC; height cm 9,5; diam cm 23; In the inner tondo, inscribed in a continuous meander, a standing maenad, wearing a lion-skin; in front of her, a thyrsus. On the external surface, maenads and a satyr represented in two dionysian scenes; whose were originally composed by three characters on each side, divided by small palmette. Restored with reconstructions; missing handles. Provenance: Private collection, London; acquired in Brussels from Alara Gallery on 1994; formerly in an old German collection (Düsseldorf).
