This canvas is a beautiful copy of Titian's 'Flora', the painting preserved in the Uffizi in Florence. Titian's painting moved several times during the seventeenth century, was brought back to Italy only in 1793 and the work in question probably took shape after this date, by an academic painter. The original title of the work referred to the flowers and sheets held in the woman's right hand.
