Skull in boiled leather, painted in black, metal parts and chin-straps with brass scales, with velvet lining. Front badge with papal tiara surmounting a silver-color plate, numbered "6" and with pelta with "PIO IX". Cockade in two colors. Remains of silk cap inside and large, leather band.
