Wu Bin (1550 -1643) "Buddha"

Ink and pigments on silk. It represents the figure of Buddha seated, in a rocky landscape with trees, and surrounded by two servants or followers. Wu Bin 吴彬 was a master of traditional Chinese Buddhist painting who worked in the Palace Painting Academy. 

Text on the left margin written in ink 枝隐头陀吴彬写 and a seal. In the upper corner there is a stamp made in red with a round shape and in the lower right corner a collector's stamp 惕安珍藏. The paint is framed and in good condition, although the fabric has some flaws due to the age of the piece. On the frame, on the back, there is a label written in ink that reads 吴彬礼佛图真迹 "The Authentic Buddhist Painting of Wu Binli".
