Mexico, 1949. 3 photographs and a print. Original covers by Josep Renau. Important speech written in prose and dedicated by Neruda to the Chilean dictator who declared the Chilean communists illegal and ordered Neruda’s arrest. The original covers are illustrated, the back with the poem La Patria prisionera, and the front with a cartoon image of Videla as a corpse festooned with a coat and tie, and a sign with his name at his neck. A very rare edition, published secretly and with no printer’s mark.
