Handwritten dedication in black ink from Vicente Aleixandre to Pablo Neruda: “A Pablo Neruda, con un cariño muy grande, cerca, cerca. Vicente. Madrid, febrero, 1935”. According to the seller, these were among the books that Pablo had to leave behind in Spain when he had to leave urgently during the Spanish Civil War. There is a copy in the University of Chile in the Neruda Library, of La Destrucción o El Amor, a 1st edition which also has a dedication to Neruda from Vicente Aleixandre: “A mí querido Pablo, magnífico en su poesía y en su amistad, una tarde de Julio. Vicente Aleixandre, 1935.”
