Dedication handwritten in green ink by Neruda: “A Violeta Parra, que canta a través de los sueños del pueblo. Su voz emerge desde lo profundo de un Chile dormido, intentando alcanzar su nota más alta”. “Para subir al cielo se necesita tan...”. Autograph signature in green ink on the colophon: “Pablo Neruda”. It states in the colophon: Printing concluded on the 18th August 1958, twentieth anniversary of the publishing house Losada, graphic elements directed by Andrés Ramón Vázquez and Silvio Baldessari, who also designed the covers. Most of the drawings were taken from the Libro de Objetos Ilustrado (Book of Illustrated Objects), printed in San Luis de Potosi, Mexico, in 1883, others belong to the edition of the Complete Works of Jules Verne illustrated by P. Ferat. The drawing which accompanies the poem No tan alto, is by Guadalupe Posadas. The wife of the poet, Matilde Urrutia, and H. Arce Cabrera collaborated on the selection of these materials in Isla Negra. 50 copies were also printed that were not for resale, numbered 1 to 50 and signed by the author. In its original covers.
