Spectacular Divina Pastora, Colonial Peruvian school of the 17th century, Cuzco, school of Diego Quispe Tito (San Sebastián del Cuzco, 1611 - San Sebastián del Cuzco, 1681) - Oil on canvas, measurements framed 143 x 104, measurements canvas: 135 x 95 cm. With meticulous details and bright colors, it is a work clearly linked to the Cuzco school of painting, closely linked to similar works by the great Andean painter Diego Quispe Tito (San Sebastián del Cuzco, 1611 - San Sebastián del Cuzco, 1681). The theme of the Divine Shepherdess spread from Andalusia to the New World, a very unique invocation of the Virgin Mary that became popular in Andalusia at the end of the 17th century. The Lord's mother appears seated on a rock and surrounded by sheep. She carries a rose in her left hand and caresses one of the sheep, which carries another rose in her mouth, sitting to her right we observe San Juanito. In the upper part of it, angels of her crowning it are observed; and, in the background, the archangel Saint Michael comes down to free a sheep trapped by a wolf with his sword.
