BUST OF CHRIST - Attributed to Lorenzo Mercadante of Brittany (d. 1480) - Spanish Gothic School of the 15th century
In terracotta with remains of polychrome, measurements: 28 x 37 x 15 cm. Lorenzo Mercadante of Brittany (d. 1480) was a Breton sculptor active in Andalusia during the second half of the 15th century. He was a Gothic style sculptor. A Burgundian realism can be seen in his work with formal analogies with Breton sculpture from the first half of the 15th century.
