Simchat Mitzvah, for the dedication of the Italian Synagogue of Florence, by Rabbi Daniel Tirani. Published by Gotano Kambiago, Florence, [1793]. 


14 leaves. 20 cm. Some of the title page and the headings with red lettering. With a bookplate and ownership stamp. Added in Judeo-Italian script is the date:  "מיום ששה לחודש תמוז תקנ"ג" (sixth of Tamuz, 1793).


Rabbi Daniel ben Rabbi Moshe David Tirani (1740-1814) one of the sages of Italy. A disciple of his grandfather Rabbi Daniel Nachamu and a leading disciple of Rabbi Shimshon Morpurgo. He travelled constantly from one Jewish community to another, serving as a Darshan in Ancona, Rav in Ponty and Dayan in Pissaro. Since 1790 served as Rab and Av Beis Din of Florence. Author of Ikraei Hadat, Ketav Hadat, Matnat Yad, Se'udat Mitzvah and more. 


Wera to binding. Blemish and taping to the title page. Stains. Two words were cut from the book. Good condition.
