RARE PORCELAIN TEAPOT WITH KPM MARK & CHINOISERIES.

Meissen.
Date: Ca. 1725-30.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours, painted in gold.
Description: The tea pot with a squat, bulbous shape and tubular spout. This is set in a mascaron. The
handle is leaf-shaped at the base and finely painted with 'Indian' flowers on the back of
the handle. A large cartouche with purple lustres and feather decoration on the wall of
each jug, each containing garden scenes with two Chinese at tea ceremonies. The spaces
between the cartouches are decorated with insects. A golden ornamental band around the rim
of the pot and 'Indian' flowers again on the lid of the pot.
Measurement: Height 10cm.
Mark: Swords mark and "K.P.M.", painted blue under glaze. Gold painter's number 9. Cameo mark of two dots.
