Torah, Prophets and Writings with Spanish translation. Amsterdam, [1762]. [6] leaves, 178 178 columns, [1] leaf, 179-332 columns, [2] leaves, 350 columns, 39 cm. Like in other copies, the introductory leaves are not bound at the beginning of the book, however the work is complete. The translation is printed on facing columns. A section of the chief title page is printed in red ink. Separate title pages for Early Prophets, Later Prophets and Writings. Spanish introduction, poem by Rabbi Avraham Bashan, chart with the readings from the Tanach for the entire year, chart for the Torah readings for holidays and chart of the haftarot, in Hebrew and Spanish. Historically significant: Tanach with a unique translation for Spanish-speaking Jews that reached Amsterdam. Magnificent leather binding with four silver? knobs protruding on each side. Gold owner embossing: Abraham de moses benrinoh, Gibraltar. Gilt cut leaves, magnificent endpapers. Aging stains. Fine condition.
