Semichah from the Maharitz - Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinsky.
[1] letterhead. 12x22 cm. All in his hand and with his signature and stamp. The Maharitz validates the semichah of Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Dushinsky of Budapest as Rav and Moreh.This is possibly the Maharitz's brother: He had a brother with this name, although the letter does not mention this relationship.
Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinsky (1867-1948) was the gava"d of the Eidah HaCharedit in Jerusalem. He was a prominent Hungarian rabbi who served in the rabbinate in Galante and Chust. In Chust, he headed the largest, most prominent yeshivos in Hungary. In 1933, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael to succeed Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld as the leader of the Eidah HaCharedit in Jerusalem and Eretz Yisrael. In Jerusalem, he re-established the yeshiva and headed it until his death in 1949.
