A LIDDED KÜTAHYA POTTERY VASE
Turkey, Ca. Early 19th century AD. A pottery vase of elegant baluster form with a slender, tapering neck and domed stopper. The body is decorated in a vibrant palette of cobalt blue, turquoise, sage green, and bole red, featuring stylised floral sprays, saz leaves, and interlocking arabesques, framed by a geometric band at the shoulder. The neck is adorned with elongated panels of repeating triangular motifs, echoing the bold checkerboard design at the upper body. The finely executed designs reflect the influence of classical Ottoman court ceramics, reminiscent of Iznik wares produced for the imperial palace.Size: 310mm x 150mm; Weight: 800gProvenance: Previous property of a UK based Islamic art professional.
