A FINE PERSIAN TABRIZ RUG WITH CENTRAL MEDALLION AND FLORAL ARABESQUES
Tabriz, Ca. Mid- 20th century AD. An exquisitely woven carpet of rectangular form, with silk fringes and inlaid silk features a sumptuous central medallion symmetrically arranged within a field of delicate floral arabesques and scrolling vine motifs. The soft golden field serves as an elegant backdrop to an elaborate multi-layered floral design, masterfully rendered in shades of rose, blue, and ivory, showcasing the refined craftsmanship of Persian weaving traditions. The border is framed by a rich crimson band, densely ornamented with an interlacing pattern of palmettes, lotus flowers, and saz leaves, enclosed by finely detailed guard bands. The contrast between the warm tones of the border and the luminous pastel hues of the field creates a dynamic visual effect, emphasizing the balance and harmony characteristic of Isfahan carpets.Size: 3220mm x 2000mm; Weight: 15.2kgProvenance: Previous property of a UK based Islamic art professional.
