SPb: tip. 1-oy SPb. Trudovoy arteli, 1914. Ch. 1. III-XII, [2], 1-638, XLII, 681-759, XI, 771-827, [5] p., il.; Ch. 2. [2], 1-243, XX, XXI, [4] p., il.; 24.8x16 cm. At the lower edge of the title page (Ch. 1) there is a stamped ex-libris "E. Molokhovets," indicating the authenticity of the edition.
In an publisher's half-leather binding. Leather bookmark with gold embossing, covers pasted with knee leather, gold embossing on the upper cover, composite flyleaf of ornamental paper. In good condition. Rubbing and small cracks in the leather along the spine.
First published in 1861 in Kursk, the book has undergone more than thirty reprints in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and has not lost its relevance even today.
This unique anthology of Russian cuisine recipes was initially published as a guide, helping young housewives in household management. The book includes recipes for vegetarian and fasting meals, examples of table setting and dishes, and descriptions of various supplies needed in domestic economy.
