Giorgina Caprile (Firenze, 1877 - Roma, 1951)

Daughter of Hubert content Caprile and Joanna Hope [1], Giorgina is attracted by music from a young age, taking the opera singing in Milan, refining its own timbre of soprano and where he was a pupil of the master Carignani. His debut came in February 1900 at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, where he gives voice to the character of Suzel alongside the tenor Fernando De Lucia's L'amico Fritz by Pietro Mascagni, followed a month later by the interpretation of Mimì in La bohème Giacomo Puccini. [2] Thanks to its qualities actorial share the beauty, during the next fifteen years has supported numerous dramatic roles in Puccini repertoire such as Tosca in the opera, Manon in Manon Lescaut, Minnie in La Fanciulla del West, also Iris and Isabeau in the homonymous works by Mascagni, Violetta Valery in La traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, Margherita in Boito's Mefistofele, Wally La Wally by Alfredo Catalani. In addition to the success in Italy, it is one of the sopranos favorites to sail the South American opera houses, particularly as Violetta, and Europe, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona in Manon Lescaut during the 1907-1908 season, and in Russia .
