The painting, on the first canvas, bears the stamp on the reverse with the wording of belonging to the collection of Carlo Fracanzani, nicknamed Conte Rosso, and a previous attribution to Ingres. The canvas, in addition to the crimping net, has some repainting in the background and very small retouches on the face. The overall state of conservation is more than good. In frame
