Title: Le Gentillome Cavalier. A colorful and surreal print of a pipe smoking man in 18th century garb riding a blue bucktooth horse with distorted creatures in pursuit. Signed by the artist in pencil in lower right corner and edition number written to left. Black matte border with black mount; chevron textured gold finished frame. Mihail Chemiakin was born in Moscow in 1943 and was later exiled from Soviet Russia in 1971. Upon his return to post-Soviet Russia, he was commissioned by government officials to create monuments dedicated to Peter the Great, the Victims of Political Repressions, and the Architects and Builders of St. Petersburg. He also had monuments commissioned in France. Sight size: 14.5"W x 15"H; frame: 18.5"W x 19"H x 0.5"D. Certificate of Authenticity included.
